About Prof. Ramkrishna More Prekshagruha
Prof. Ramkrishna More Prekshagruha in Chinchwad is the main auditorium of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and the twin city's first-choice stage. It is named after Ramkrishna More, the educationist and politician from Pimpri-Chinchwad. The programme is what you would expect of a civic theatre in a largely Marathi-speaking industrial city: touring Marathi plays, lavani and orchestra nights, comedy shows, classical concerts, kirtan and lecture series, and a steady flow of school, college and corporation functions. The corporation has also directed that its auditoriums be made available free of charge to its primary and secondary schools. For residents of Chinchwad, Nigdi and Akurdi it saves the long trip into Pune for a play. The nearest metro station is PCMC, with Chinchwad railway station closer still.
