About The Box, Erandwane
The Box is an intimate performing-arts space on Karve Road in Erandwane, set up inside a former industrial unit and run as a flexible black-box theatre. It has become one of the main homes of Pune's experimental theatre circuit, and its listings also include contemporary and classical dance, music, improv, storytelling and stand-up comedy. Audiences sit close to the performers and seat numbers are small, which suits new writing and solo work that would be lost in a 900-seat hall. Shows are in Marathi, Hindi and English, and many productions run for only a night or two. The venue is near the old Nal Stop junction, a short walk or auto ride from SNDT College station on the Aqua Line.
