Pune International Film Festival (PIFF) 2027
2 events matching right now across Pune — mostly workshop (2). 2 are free.
The 25th Pune International Film Festival, PIFF, is listed for 14 to 21 January 2027 by international festival directories and the festival's call for entries; confirm the final schedule on the festival's own website nearer the time. Film submissions were open until 31 October 2026. PIFF began in 2002 and is organised by the Pune Film Foundation with the Government of Maharashtra. Its programme is built around a World Competition and a Marathi Competition, each judged by an international jury, alongside Global Cinema, a country focus, retrospectives, tributes, student films and masterclasses with visiting film-makers. The 24th edition, from 15 to 22 January 2026, screened at three venues: PVR ICON at The Pavillion mall on Senapati Bapat Road, the National Film Archive of India on Law College Road and E-Square on University Road. Entry is by delegate registration rather than per-film tickets, with seats for each screening on a first-come basis, so regulars plan each day around one venue. Pune's place in Indian cinema, as home of the Film and Television Institute of India and the national archive, gives the festival an unusually knowledgeable audience. This page lists PIFF screenings and other film festivals and special screenings in the city.
Good to know
- Register as a delegate as soon as registration opens; the pass is your entry to every screening.
- Seats are first come, first served. Queue at least 30 minutes ahead for competition films and big-name titles.
- Pick one venue per day. Moving between Senapati Bapat Road and Law College Road in traffic can cost you a screening.
- The festival catalogue and daily schedule are released close to the opening; check them each morning for changes.
- The National Film Archive is about a kilometre from SNDT College and Garware College metro stations.
